The New Yorker cartoon

What does I’ll-informed mean?

What would happen if he didn’t watch television?

What show is he watching that is informing him?

Where do you become informed of things?

How has television affected our ability to learn things?

This cartoon is supposed to be funny because it is exaggerating how dumb we have become from watching tv. It’s kind of a play on the old watching television will fry your brain joke. I mean it is right about what it is saying about not becoming informed from TV, but it’s not like most people watch TV other than the news to be informed. Most people watch tv to be entertained.
